Welcome aboard the Erasmus.
You will be staying on a ferry dating from 1923 W.F. van der Wijck of the earlier ferry connection Enkhuizen-Stavoren, later converted to Erasmus, which was then the flagship of Spido Rotterdam.
Erasmus was decommissioned in 1973 and brought to Dordrecht to serve as a boarding school for problem children. History .....
The layout is still as it was then. However, we have made it cozier and more luxurious. The bunk beds of yesteryear have given way to box-spring mattresses from today.
In the morning we provide a good breakfast, so that you will have enough energy for the first part of the day.
The Erasmus is sittuated on one of the most beautiful and convenient spots of Dordrecht, just outside the city center in the river Wantij. It is a wonderful base from which you can visit Dordrecht and his surroundings.
There are beautiful routes for walking, cycling and sailing routes that could start from the ship.We also have bicycles, luxury canoes and boats for hire.
If the Dutch weather is not so good one's more, then there is still plenty to do inside. We offer an internet cafe, pool table, soccer table, game consoles, home cinema, dartboard, trampoline and for a small fee we can offer creative workshops.
